Ulrich and Lubemec collaborated to design a central lubrication system for wheel loader accessories

ULRICH Attachments Ltd, a manufacturer of customized attachments for mobile equipment machinery, has partnered with Lubemec, a total lubrication system and solution provider, to include a single point grease system that will further enhance the capabilities of its high-end buckets; a design Auxiliary accessories used to improve the functionality of most wheel loaders.

Considering that effective and well-maintained lubrication of work attachments is a key factor in prolonging equipment availability, Ulrich has teamed up with SKF lubrication distributors who serve nationwide to design a specific lubrication system that can connect multiple grease directions to the bucket A central location on the back of the accessory.

The design of the system was originally discussed in the recent Hillhead exhibition, and it requires the installation of a set of grease pipes with protective covers, extending from each nipple point to the central block. This system means that the driver of the vehicle only needs to lubricate one point on the block to safely and successfully distribute the grease to each key point of the accessory on a regular basis.

The progressive slider not only ensures that all points are lubricated, but also has visual aids designed to notify the operator of blockages and help avoid any indirect damage.

When explaining the company's decision to develop a lubrication system, Ulrich's sales manager Jason Periam said: "Relevant experience tells us that although many factory vehicles are equipped with automatic lubrication systems, the installed accessories are often overlooked.

'Efficiently maintaining the function of hard-working attachments and using the correct application of lubricant is essential to prolong the life and performance of the equipment, while increasing the level of operational safety, because the operator does not need to personally touch the bucket for lubrication.

'We believe that by working with Lubemec to design a system that can be installed on one of our best-selling accessories, high-tip buckets, this will make the entire lubrication process more feasible. After all, if a task is easier to complete, it is more likely to be completed.

'In addition, if the connecting loader is already equipped with a Lubemec self-lubricating system, the new Ulrich system can be effectively connected to it for convenience and efficiency. Essentially, the system makes the attachment lubrication process easier and, more importantly, safer for the operator. Mr. Periam said it saves time and can prove to be more economical.

Lubemec's regional sales engineer Graham Imms added: "I have been in the construction industry for 24 years, during which time I have witnessed Ulrich becoming the leader in the UK wheel loader accessories market.

'After a conversation at Hillhead this year, Ulrich asked if we would provide a centralized lubrication system for their Ulrich series of high-end and pincer buckets. The system we designed is unique to Ulrich, and we are very happy to work with such an innovative company.

Ulrich plans to make the lubrication mechanism a standard feature of its high-end buckets by 2019.
